Coast and beaches

Read the following text and then answer the questions.

Coasts and beaches

Coasts are where the land and the sea meet. Coasts change all the time. At high tide the sea comes in and covers the land. At low tide the sea goes out again. Coasts also change because of the weather. Sometimes it is very windy and the waves are big. But at other times the sea is calm and the waves are small. Some coasts near big cities are polluted but other coasts are clean.

Many coasts have beaches which are popular in the summer. Some coasts have rocky beaches. Some coasts have sandy beaches. Rocky beaches have rocks and rocks pools. Sandy beaches have sand. Many small animals live on rocky and sandy beaches. You can also find birds and plants.

Now answer these questions:

1. Are coasts always the same?

2. How does the weather change coasts?

3. How are beaches different?

4. Write some animals that you can find on the beach.

5. When you go to the beach in summer, what do you do? Write some plays or rules that you can follow.

6. Do you know the name of any village that is on the coast?

7. Do you know the meaning of the colors of the beach flag?
